The Lettmann Rocky is the perfect symbiosis of two favourite kayaks. It combines the well-mannered features of the Granate with the modern features of the Manta.
The hull bottom combines high speed with stability and tracking. Big rocker with extra volume in the bow provides a dry run, even in very turbulent waters, and the boat resurfaces smoothly and under control after big drops. Rounded chines guarantee secondary stability in strong side currents, while landings off waterfalls are safer.
Safety features include 5 aluminium safety handles, size-adjustable aluminium bulkhead footrest, front and rear foam support pillars. The Sport seat with its seat cushioning is complimented by adjustable padded thigh braces and a ratchet-adjusted padded backrest.
The Rocky is available in two sizes – Rocky M and Rocky L. The Rocky M has 40 litres less volume than its big brother Rocky L and is 10 cm shorter, so it suits small to medium-sized paddlers.

Ideal for extreme boating on Grade 5-6 rapids and steep creeks such as the Wairoa, Huka Falls (Waikato), upper Kakapotahi, Turnbull, Rangitata Gorge, Waikaia, Monkey Creek (Hollyford), etc. Also fun for ‘no stress’ boating on Grade 3-4 river runs.
Price is for the kayak only. You will also need a paddle, PFD and spraydeck. The Mohaka and Ergonom Pro are good paddles for the Rocky kayak. The Nevis or Extrem are suitable buoyancy vests. The Rhino, Enduro and Strongdeck are all excellent neoprene decks.
Optional extras include a cockpit cover (for transport and storage).
